Calcium silicate hydrate— in?situ development of the silicate structure followed by infrared spectroscopy

چکیده

In the current study, development of silicate structure synthetic calcium hydrates with different contents was followed by in-situ infrared (IR) spectroscopy and correlated to phase evaluated X-ray diffraction (XRD). A baseline correction method initially developed for diffractograms successfully adapted complex background fingerprint region in IR, which significantly contributed signal quality reproducibility. The separate bands could be monitored over 24 h reaction. These assigned oligomeric dimeric species based on their time stoichiometry-dependent development. It clearly shown that main peak overlooked literature. correlation time-dependent events XRD revealed changes unit cell hydrate are related polymerization. results were compared 29Si-MAS-NMR, highlighted benefits IR spectroscopy.

Solubility and Structure of Calcium Silicate Hydrate

A poorly crystalline class of calcium silicate hydrates known as C–S–H possesses extensive disorder and structural variations at the nanometer scale. The extent of these variations has generally obscured a comprehensive understanding of the C–S–H nanostructure, but new relationships between solubility and structure appear to shed new light on this old problem. These relationships were inspired ...

Order and disorder in calcium-silicate-hydrate.

Despite advances in the characterization and modeling of cement hydrates, the atomic order in Calcium-Silicate-Hydrate (C-S-H), the binding phase of cement, remains an open question. Indeed, in contrast to the former crystalline model, recent molecular models suggest that the nanoscale structure of C-S-H is amorphous. To elucidate this issue, we analyzed the structure of a realistic simulated m...

Hydration of tricalcium silicate in the presence of synthetic calcium–silicate–hydrate

The early age-hydration of tricalcium silicate, the main chemical compound in Portland cement, was studied in the presence of synthetic calcium silicate hydrate (C–S–H) addition having C/S ratios 1⁄4 0.8 and 1.2. Isothermal conduction calorimetry, scanning electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry and Si MAS NMR were employed in order to investigate events occurring during various ...
